Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Located in Penghu County, Taiwan Province of China, Huxi Township is the largest township-level administrative district in the Penghu Islands, covering the eastern part of Penghu Main Island and the neighboring islets. The township is famous for its traditional Minnan culture, basalt geological landscape and fishery activities, and has rich marine resources and historical relics, such as the Moses Parting of the Sea at Kuibi Mountain, Huxi Old Street and other special attractions. The local economy is mainly based on fishing, but in recent years it has been actively developing the tourism industry, promoting intertidal ecological experiences and local food culture.
Huxi Township is bordered by the Taiwan Strait to the east and Magong City to the west, with gentle terrain and a winding coastline, featuring sandy beaches, intertidal zones and basalt landforms. The climate is subtropical and oceanic, with strong winds and little rain, which is suitable for the development of wind power industry. The area is interspersed with farmland and fishing villages, and retains a large number of overdrawn traditional stone buildings, showing the unique island humanistic landscape of Penghu.
Husi Township retains a strong traditional culture of southern Fujian and organizes various religious festivals and fishery rituals every year. Tourists can visit the natural wonders such as Tang Ye ash kiln ruins, Longmen Drums and experience the fishing village life such as oyster harvesting and Shihu fishing. Local specialties include cactus ice, Fengru tea and processed seafood products, which is a representative area to experience the island culture of Penghu.
