Boiron is a town in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria in the German state of Bavaria, not an independent state. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich on the banks of the Isar River in the northern foothills of the Alps and has a population of about 3,500. The town is known for its rich history, its Catholic Benedictine abbey and its natural beauty.
The Abbey of Boiron, founded in the 8th century, is the central landmark of the area and is known for its Baroque architecture and collection of religious art. The town retains its traditional Bavarian houses, hosts annual Christmas markets and other folklore events, and is surrounded by forests and hills, making it ideal for hiking and cycling tours.
The economy is based on tourism, agriculture and small crafts, with easy access to Munich and the Austrian border by road and rail. Boiron embodies the tranquility and cultural heritage of the Bavarian countryside and is an ideal stopover for exploring the German pre-Alpine region.
Gaochun District is located in the southwestern tip of Jiangsu Province and the southern tip of Nanjing, at the junction of Jiangsu and Anhui Provinces, and is the southern gateway to Nanjing, which is known as "the holy land of Jiangnan and the land of fish and rice". As China's first "International Slow City", Gaochun is surrounded by two natural lakes, Gucheng Lake and Shishu Lake, with a forest coverage of over 40%, a unique ecological environment, and is famous for its ecological experience of "slow life and deep breathing". The Gucheng Lake crabs produced here are large and fat, and are national geographical indications products, supporting the specialty aquatic economy. Meanwhile, Gaochun has preserved the cultural heritage of thousands of years, such as Chunxi Old Street and Xuecheng Lanterns, and blends Wu-Yue culture with Hui style, making it a popular destination in the Yangtze River Delta for ecological sightseeing, folklore experience, and rural tourism. Relying on the location advantage of Nanjing Metropolitan Area, Gaochun is building a green and modernized new city that is pleasant to live and work in, based on the strategy of "Establishing an Ecological District and Developing the District through Tourism".
