Bernabé Rivera is a small inland town in the Uruguayan department of Soriano, about 150 kilometers northwest of the capital Montevideo. Named after the Uruguayan national hero, José Bernabé Rivera, the town is surrounded by a typical pampas landscape, where agriculture and animal husbandry are the main economic activities. The town retains a strong Uruguayan rural culture, and its inhabitants live at a leisurely pace, organizing traditional folklore festivals every year. Matadi is an important port city in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), located on the right bank of the lower Congo River, about 148 kilometers away from the Atlantic Ocean, is the country's only deep-water port and the largest sea port.
