North and South Pagodas in China: Overview of Beita District, Shaoyang City

Beita District is a municipal district of Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, China, founded in 1997. It is located in the northern part of Shaoyang City, at the confluence of the Zijiang River and the Shaoshui River, and is named after the Beita Temple (an ancient pagoda from the Tang Dynasty) in the district. The area has a total area of 84.5 square kilometers, with a resident population of about 150,000, governing five streets and three townships, and is an important industrial and commercial logistics base in Shaoyang City. The district has convenient transportation, with the Hukun Expressway and Erguang Expressway passing through the district, and is about 8 kilometers away from Shaoyang Airport. Relying on the water resources of Zijiang River, Beita District develops eco-tourism and modern agriculture, while taking machinery manufacturing and food processing as the pillar industries. In recent years, Beita District has actively integrated into the economic circle of ChangZhuTan urban agglomeration and promoted the integration of industry and city. As the core area of Shaoyang City's "One Core, Two Wings" development strategy, Beita District is accelerating the construction of a modern urban area that is pleasant to live and work in, with both historical heritage and emerging vitality.

Overview of Sao Tome and Principe (note on "Java")

São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
