Bao Ta District is part of the city of Yan'an, Shaanxi Province, China, and is the seat of the Yan'an Municipal Government and the core administrative district, with a total area of 3,556 square kilometers and a population of about 500,000 people. Located in the hilly and gully area of the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province, it has a temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons.
Bao Ta District, named after the ancient building "Bao Ta Shan" in the Tang Dynasty, is one of the modern revolutionary shrines in China, with more than 140 red memorial sites, including the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall and the Yangjialing Revolutionary Site. The nine-story pagoda on Baota Mountain is the symbol of the city, and you can climb the pagoda to have a panoramic view of Yan'an.
