Bantè is a city in the West African country of Benin, Republic of Benin, located in the hilly region of the center of the country, under the jurisdiction of the Collines Department. The city is located about 200 km from the capital, Porto Novo, and is an important agricultural and trade center in the region.
Bonthe is located in the central highlands of Benin and has a savannah climate with distinct dry and rainy seasons. The population is predominantly Fon and Yoruba, with traditional farming and modern small-scale commerce, and a small but cohesive community.
The economy is dominated by agriculture, with crops such as yams, cassava and maize grown, while animal husbandry and handloom weaving are also important sources of income. The weekly open-air market is a central place for the exchange of goods in the region, attracting neighboring villagers to trade.
Bonthe retains Benin's traditional Vodun rituals and tribal celebrations, and craftsmen produce colorful weavings and wood carvings. Historic earthen buildings are scattered around the city, reflecting the unique architectural ingenuity of the region.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
