Located in the western part of New Taipei City, Taiwan, China, Banqiao is the seat of the New Taipei City Government and the political center. As an important satellite city of the Taipei metropolitan area, Banqiao has a population of approximately 550,000, making it the most populous municipal district in Taiwan.
