Bălți is the largest city in the north of Moldova, the second largest city in the country, and is known as the "capital of the north". Located about 135 kilometers north of the capital, Chisinau, on the banks of the Recur River, a tributary of the Prut River, is an important industrial, transportation and cultural hub. Located in the southern part of Azerbaijan, Satre District is an important administrative division of the country, known for its natural beauty and agricultural economy.
