Balch Springs is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States, located in the eastern portion of the Dallas metropolitan area, about 15 miles from downtown Dallas. Incorporated in 1953, the city has a population of about 25,000 and is named after early settlers, the Balch family, and local spring resources. The city's economy is dominated by retail, service and light industry, and it is conveniently located near interstate highways. Balch Springs offers community parks, recreational facilities, and a family-friendly environment with a typical climate of hot summers and mild winters, part of the suburban urban landscape of Northeast Texas.
