Baalbeck is an ancient city in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, located about 85 kilometers northeast of the capital Beirut. The city is known for its magnificent Roman ruins and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Baalbek Temple Complex, one of the most massive religious structures of the Roman Imperial period, includes the Temple of Jupiter, the Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Venus, showcasing the mastery of ancient Roman architecture.
The area dates back to Phoenician times and was once an important religious center. Today, Baalbek not only attracts archaeology enthusiasts, but also hosts an annual international music festival that blends history with culture and art. Visitors can explore the site's massive stone pillars and carvings and feel the shock of a millennia-old civilization. The city is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and is suitable for excursions in conjunction with the Lebanese wine region.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
