Astana is the capital city of Kazakhstan, located in the north-central part of the country, on the banks of the Ihim River. It replaced Almaty as the new capital in 1997, and was renamed Nursultan in 2019, before reverting to its original name of Astana in 2022. As a political and administrative center, the city is known for its modern architecture, such as the Bayderek Observation Tower and the Khan Shatyr Tent Entertainment Center.
Astana is an important economic hub for Kazakhstan, focusing on the energy, finance and transportation sectors, and the EXPO 2017 World Expo is promoting its green energy development. The city is multicultural, with theaters, museums and annual festivals that reflect multi-ethnic harmony.
Astana has a continental climate with harsh winters and warm summers. Popular attractions include the Nur Astana Mosque and the Presidential Palace, enticing visitors to explore its unique cityscape.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
