Assiros is an ancient village in the Thessaloniki prefecture in the Macedonian region of northern Greece, situated in the basin of the Axios River, about 60 kilometers from the city of Thessaloniki. It is a small town with a rich history, with archaeological sites dating from the Late Neolithic to the Bronze Age, and with artifacts such as pottery, metal tools and amber decorations that attest to the vibrant trade networks and cultural exchanges that existed in the area around 3,000 BC.
