Aleppo, a historic city in northern Syria, is located in Aleppo province near the Turkish border and was once an important trading hub on the ancient Silk Road. Port Stanley is the capital and main settlement of the Falkland Islands, situated on the northeast coast of East Falkland. As the political, economic and cultural center of the Islands, the port city has a population of around 2,500, which makes up the majority of the total Falkland population. Port Stanley is known for its brightly colored rooftops, English architecture and tranquil waterfront setting.
