Aleppo, a historic city in northern Syria, is located in Aleppo province near the Turkish border and was once an important trading hub on the ancient Silk Road. Manassas is a small city located in Meriwether County in the U.S. state of Georgia, about 85 kilometers from the state capital Atlanta. The city covers an area of about 3.2 square kilometers and has a population of about 4,000. It is known for its peaceful rural atmosphere and rich historical sites.
Founded in the late 19th century, Manassas sprang up as a result of the development of the railroad and takes its name from the Battle of Manassas in the American Civil War. The city retains a large number of Victorian-style buildings, including the Meriwether County Courthouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
