Aleppo, a historic city in northern Syria, is located in Aleppo province near the Turkish border and was once an important trading hub on the ancient Silk Road. This ancient city of more than 8,000 years incorporates the imprints of Arab, Persian, and Roman civilizations, and its magnificent citadel, ancient mosques, and traditional bazaars (such as the Great Market of Aleppo) showcase a rich cultural heritage. As one of the largest cities in Syria, Erek has long been a regional economic and cultural center throughout its history, and despite the damage caused by the conflict in recent years, its unique architectural and human heritage continues to attract the world's attention, and it is now gradually moving towards recovery and reconstruction.
Fanchi County is located in the northeast of Shanxi Province, under Xinzhou City, east of Hebei Province and north of Inner Mongolia, and is an important node at the junction of Jin, Hebei and Mongolia. With a total area of about 2,369 square kilometers and a population of about 270,000, the county has a temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons.
The history of Fanshi dates back to the Spring and Autumn Period, and it was named after "Fansheng Zhili". It is an important area of Buddhist culture, with part of the World Heritage Site of Wutai Mountain, including the famous ancient temples of Yanshan Temple and Princess Temple. The ruins of the ancient Great Wall of the Sui Dynasty and the Battle of Pingxingguan are also located here, combining military, religious and folk culture.
Fanshi has a magnificent natural landscape, including the Boqiang Ecological Scenic Area and the wetlands of the Hu Tu River, etc. It is a cool and pleasant place for summer vacation in summer. The local specialties of Fanshi yellow rice and Chinese herbs are famous nationwide, and the traditional paper-cutting and embroidery techniques are listed in the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
