Jieyang is located in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, in the middle of the Chaoshan Plain, with the Rong River running through the city, and is known as the "Water Town of Lingnan". As an ancient town in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, Jieyang's history dates back to the Qin and Han Dynasties, and it has a rich cultural heritage, with non-legacy cultures such as the Chaoshan dialect, Kung Fu Tea, and Ying Song and Dance being inherited here. Economically, Jieyang is the "Jade Capital of China" and the "Hardware Base City of China", with well-developed industries such as jade processing, hardware and plastics, textiles and garments, as well as an active private economy. In addition, Jieyang's cuisine is unique and popular, including Jieyang Beef Balls and Ping Pong Kuey Teow. In recent years, with the opening of Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport and the advancement of the Guangdong-East Intercity Railway, this thousand-year-old city is accelerating its integration into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and has become an important hub connecting Guangdong-East with the whole country.
