Apopa is a major city in the department of San Salvador, El Salvador, located about 10 kilometers north of the capital city of San Salvador, and is part of the core of the San Salvador Metropolitan Area. One of the most densely populated cities in the country, Apopa has approximately 200,000 inhabitants and is one of the main commercial and residential centers in northern El Salvador.
