Altay is located in the northern part of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at the southern foot of the Altai Mountains, bordering Mongolia, Russia and Kazakhstan, and is an important node on the northern route of the Silk Road, which is known as the "Golden Mountain and Silver Water". It has world-class landscapes such as Kanas, Womu Village and Baihaba, grasslands like a carpet, blue lakes in summer, and "powder snow paradise" in winter, attracting global skiing enthusiasts.
