Introduction to Aloi, Uganda

Aloi is a quiet town in the Lira District of northern Uganda, located on the southeastern shore of Lake Kyoga, about 400 kilometers from the capital city of Kampala. As an important local agricultural and trading center, the surrounding area is rich in cotton, groundnuts, cassava and other crops, and the town has an active market and is a distribution center for agricultural products from the surrounding area. The population of Aloi is predominantly Acholi, and the local culture retains traditional handicrafts and folklore activities with a strong community atmosphere.
