Hodeidah is an important port city in western Yemen, located near the entrance of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait at the southern end of the Red Sea, with an extremely important strategic location, making it a key gateway to international markets for Yemen. As one of the largest ports in Yemen, the port is responsible for about 70% of the country's imported goods throughput, including food, fuel and medical supplies, etc., which plays an irreplaceable role in Yemen's livelihood and economic development. Historically, Hodeidah was an important node of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, connecting trade routes in Africa, Asia and Europe. However, since the outbreak of Yemen's civil war in 2015, the situation in Hodeidah has continued to be volatile, with port facilities repeatedly damaged and a dire humanitarian crisis. Despite this, the city still occupies a central position in Yemen's reconstruction and future development due to its unique geographical location and historical heritage.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
