Akuressa is a town in the Hambantota District of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka, located about 240 kilometers southeast of the capital city of Colombo, in the southern lowlands of the island. The area is predominantly agricultural and produces tropical crops such as tea, rubber and coconuts, making it one of the most important distribution centers for agricultural products in southern Sri Lanka. The area around Akureyse is rich in natural beauty, such as its proximity to the Udawalawe National Park, where visitors can view wildlife such as elephants and birds. The local culture is a blend of Singhalese traditions and colonial influences, preserving a unique tradition of folk festivals and crafts. Representing the rural south, Akureyse is an ideal destination for experiencing local life and ecology in Sri Lanka's rural simplicity and cultural richness.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims.
