Akhal-Karaki is a town in the Samtskhe-Zavakheti region of southern Georgia, located in the hilly region of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, near the Turkish border. It has a long history, having been one of the cultural centers of the medieval kingdom of Samtskhe, and is rich in religious and military monuments, such as the Akhal-Karaki Castle, built in the 10th century.
The town has a population of around 2,000 and its economy is based on agriculture and livestock farming, producing cereals, potatoes and dairy products. In recent years there has been a gradual growth in tourism, and tourists often use it as a base for exploring the surrounding natural landscapes and historical sites.
Akhal-Karaki is characterized by a multicultural mix, with Georgians, Armenians and other ethnic groups coexisting. Nearby attractions include the Sapara Monastery and the cave city of Vardzia for travelers who love history and hiking. The climate is mild, and spring and fall are the best times to visit.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
