Ainab is a quiet village in the Mount Lebanon Governorate in central Lebanon, about 25 kilometers south-east of the capital Beirut, on the gentle slopes of the southern foothills of the Lebanese mountains, at an altitude of about 1,000 meters above sea level, with a typical Mediterranean mountain climate. Famous for its high quality grapes and olive oil, the local terraced vineyards and olive groves form a unique picture of agricultural scenery. Aina has retained its traditional Lebanese mountain village style, with stone houses set against winding lanes, and its inhabitants engaged in agriculture and small crafts. Located in the northwestern part of China's Guizhou Province, Weining is an autonomous county under the jurisdiction of Bijie City, situated on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with an average altitude of about 2,200 meters and a predominantly plateau mountainous climate. As a multi-ethnic settlement, Weining is characterized by Yi, Hui and Miao cultures, with rich ethnic traditions and festivals.
Weining is home to the Caohai National Nature Reserve, one of the largest plateau freshwater lakes in China, known as the "Pearl of the Plateau", an important habitat for migratory birds and rich in biodiversity.
