Acoyapa is a small city in the department of Chinandega (Chontales) in central Nicaragua, located in the central plains region of the country, about 120 kilometers from the capital city of Managua, and is one of the major agricultural and commercial centers of the region. The city's surroundings are dominated by fertile arable land that produces crops such as corn, soybeans, and coffee, and its economic activity relies on agriculture and animal husbandry. A typical Central American town with colonial-style buildings and modern facilities, Acoyapa's culture is a blend of indigenous traditions and Spanish colonial influences, and traditional festivals such as the "Holy Week" celebrations are distinctive. Despite its small size, it is one of the representative cities of the central plains of Nicaragua with a strong sense of life, as it serves as a regional transportation hub, connecting neighboring towns and providing basic services to the local population.
Sevan is a small town in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik, located in the eastern part of the country on the shores of Lake Sevan, about 66 kilometers from the capital city of Yerevan. The town is famous for its eponymous alpine lake, Lake Sevan, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Eurasia, at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level, which is known as the "Pearl of Armenia".
Lake Sevan is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and crystal clear waters, making it an important tourist and recreational destination in Armenia. The town boasts historical monuments such as the Sevan Monastery, a 9th-century monastery situated on a peninsula overlooking the lake, which attracts many tourists and pilgrims.
