Acarigua, an important city in west-central Venezuela, is located in the heart of the state of Portuguesa, at the junction of the Andean foothills and the plains, and is one of the country's agricultural and commercial centers. The fertile alluvial plains surrounding the city have made it a major producer of sugar cane, corn, cacao, coffee and other crops, with a well-developed food-processing industry that has made it the "breadbasket of Venezuela". As a transportation hub connecting the western agricultural region with the rest of the country, Acarigua has a vibrant wholesale market and is particularly known for its agricultural trade. The local culture combines agricultural traditions with urban dynamism, and the annual Agricultural Fair is an important event in the region. Despite the economic challenges of recent years, the city's position as the economic center of the region has remained strong, continuing to attract population and commerce from the surrounding area.
São Tomé and Príncipe is an island country in west-central Africa, consisting of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe and the surrounding islets, with the capital, São Tomé, located in the northeastern part of São Tomé. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, about 200 kilometers from the African continent, the country was colonized by Portugal in the 15th century and became independent in 1975, with Portuguese as the official language and an economy based on agriculture (cocoa, palm oil) and tourism. It should be noted that "Java" is not a city or region of the country; Java is the main island of Indonesia, with cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and has nothing to do with São Tomé and Príncipe, possibly due to a confusion of names.
