The town's most famous attraction is the Aburi Botanical Gardens, a 64-hectare facility built in 1890, which is a popular destination for scientific research and eco-tourism, and is home to a rich variety of tropical plants, including rare flowers, medicinal trees and centuries-old trees. The local economy is based on agriculture and handicrafts, with an abundance of flowers, citrus and other crops, as well as traditional weaving markets and wood carving crafts. Combining natural beauty with traditional Ghanaian flavor, Abor is an ideal place to experience an idyllic life away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
