Abarak, Niger: an oasis town on the edge of the Sahara

Abarak (Arlit) is an important town in the Agadez region of northern Niger, located on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert, about 900 kilometers from the capital city of Niamey. As one of the core areas of Niger's mining industry, the surrounding area is rich in uranium and was once a key supplier of raw materials to France's nuclear energy industry. The economy is dominated by mining and a small amount of oasis agriculture, and the inhabitants, many of whom are Tuareg and other ethnic groups, have retained a traditional nomadic culture. Although the town is located in an arid zone, it has become a transit point for desert trade and goods by virtue of its position as a hub on the Niger-Algeria highway, and its unique desert landscape and mining history make it both geographically and economically strategic.

Malmö, Sweden: a Nordic city where innovation meets history

The third largest city in Sweden, Malmö is located in the Skåne region, the southernmost part of the country, and is closely connected to Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, by the Öre Bridge across the Öre Strait. One of Scandinavia's most vibrant cities, Malmö blends history with modern innovation, with the old town retaining its medieval architecture and cobblestone streets, while newer neighborhoods such as the West Harbor exemplify an "eco-city" with its sustainable design and green architecture, and the landmark Rotunda Building is a highlight of the city's skyline. Known for its multiculturalism, creative industries and technological innovation, the city is home to educational institutions such as Malmö University, while its easy access to transportation and waterfront attracts tourists from all over the world, making it an ideal gateway for exploring the south of Sweden and Scandinavian life.
