Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, located in the northwest of Sichuan Province and on the southeast edge of the Tibetan Plateau, is the core area of the Sichuan-Yunnan ecological barrier. Emin County is located in the Tacheng area of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on the northwestern edge of the Junggar Basin, bordering Kazakhstan, and is an important node of the Northern Silk Road.
